Copilot Watermark Checker

Inspect text copied from Microsoft Copilot for hidden characters, unusual spaces, and formatting artifacts. Use the character report to prepare text for Word, Excel, forms, or code editors. Findings describe the pasted characters, not a verified Microsoft watermark.

Clean Copilot text for Word, Excel, and forms

A paragraph for a Word document, a cell for Excel, and a command for a terminal need different handling. Before cleaning, decide which parts are content and which parts are presentation. A bullet may help a report read clearly but be an unwanted prefix in a single spreadsheet cell. Curly quotation marks can be suitable prose while causing problems in code syntax.

Keep an original copy and work on a small sample first. If a pasted field looks right but fails a lookup, inspect that field independently. If a whole report looks untidy, focus on headings and paragraph spacing rather than deleting every unfamiliar Unicode character.

What the Copilot text checker detects

This page does not fingerprint the Copilot product that produced a passage, infer the model behind it, or certify a Microsoft watermark. It reports supported character findings in the supplied input. The same inspection works for text copied from a PDF, a browser, an email, or a manual draft.

For example, a no-break space between a number and its unit may be deliberate in a document. In an import field it may be unwanted. Both copies can look identical, so the useful question is whether the destination expects that exact character. The brand of the source application does not answer it.

Check copied Copilot code and punctuation

When reviewing suggested code, leave punctuation and Markdown conversion off until you understand the snippet. A hyphen, minus sign, and en dash are different characters. An automatic visual cleanup can change a command’s behavior or make an identifier disagree with another file.

After a targeted edit, run the relevant parser, linter, or test in your development environment. For business text, verify amounts, dates, names, citations, and table associations after pasting. The scanner can expose a character-level issue, but it cannot establish that the underlying answer is correct or appropriate for the task.

Is this an official Microsoft checker?

No. GPTClean-up is independent and does not verify Microsoft provenance signals.

Should I replace all special spaces?

Only when the destination needs ordinary spaces. Some special spacing is intentional in a document.
